All manuscripts submitted to JSSH undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. Editorial decisions are based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality and originality of the manuscript, and its relevance to the journal’s scope.
JSSH is published twice a year (biannually), with issues released every semester:
Issue 1: January–June
Issue 2: July–December
JSSH provides immediate open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are published under a Creative Commons license, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, and use the articles for lawful purposes without prior permission from the publisher or author.
To support open-access publishing, JSSH does not charge any article processing charges (APC). Submitting, reviewing, and publishing articles in this journal is completely free of charge.
