Screening Plagiarism

maintain academic integrity and ensure the originality of submissions, the Journal Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary (JMI) strictly enforces a plagiarism screening policy for all submitted manuscripts.

1. Plagiarism Check

Every manuscript submitted to JMI will be screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent tools) before entering the peer-review process.

2. Acceptable Similarity Index

The similarity index must be below 20% overall, with no more than 2% similarity from a single source (excluding references, quotes, and common phrases). Manuscripts that exceed this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.

  • Copying text or ideas from other sources without proper citation.

  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication.

  • Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment.

  • Using previously published figures, tables, or data without permission.

4. Consequences

If plagiarism is detected:

  • Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected immediately.

  • After publication: The article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.
In serious cases, the author(s) may be blacklisted from future submissions to JMI.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the content of their submissions, including ensuring the originality of their work. It is strongly advised that authors check their manuscript for plagiarism before submission.
